4AGE Throttle position sensor wiring

does anyone know what the 4 wires on a 4AGE throttle position sensor are?
are the sensors variable resistance, and therefore able to read all throttle positions, or are they an idle/full throttle switch only?
Cheers
Phil

With round body to left, connectors right, reading down the wires: E2 IDL VTA Vcc
They are varying resistance: 3 wire TPS is step.
I would write out the resistance between terminals and movement of sensor but I shall just suggest you go buy: "Max Ellery's Vehicle Repair Manual" Corolla's/Nova's 1985-1998 Sedan Seca Hatch"
It has AE86 stuff (some) covers bigport 4AG and some small port 4AG.
Order no: EP COR/N well worth the $40 or so.

thanks guys, i think i've got it figured now.
VCC: 5V constant
VTA: variable resistance (?)
IDL: Idle switch
E2: Earth
so with the haltech ECU, i should only have to use VCC, VTA & E2.

What you have got there is correct. VTA Red Variable Signal IDL Blue Closed throttle signal E2 Brown Earth VCC Yellow (Or Blue/Red) +5 DC
