Anyone on here know a reliable exhaust shop that would be willing to tacklea front mounted intercooler on my gt4 - OR have the facilities where i could buy the bends needed etc
Worst case scenario planning here - if my intercooler is infact missing never to be seen again ..
Also ideas on prices IF i supply the intercooler itself

Stu,
Have you asked any proformance company like JPC or EAS that specialises in forced induction cars?

not living in melb doesnt help me knowing what places are in melb - hence the question ..
ill note the names and see how much they charge for a good setup - then work out how much i could have it done locally for

stu, exhaust bros in geelong/hoppers have the mandrel bends you require. i get them from there from time to time. otherwise its just a case of welding it up in place which any competant mechanic will be able to do.

I reckon you should do it yourself. Pick up some mandrel bends and straight sections of steel in the right diameter from an exhaust joint. Drive round and have a chat, some let you have them basically free. Then spend a bunch of time cutting bends and holding them in place. Mark the joins and then tack-weld them together. Check it still fits and then move onto the next piece.
Eventually you get a set of intercooler pipes. Then take the set to a good welder who can do the final air-tight welding. remember to put some flexible pieces in and also that you actually have to be able to slide all the sections into place.
It may not look flash, but it is dirt cheap.
