Damn!
Yep, IS200, sporting a 3UZ-FE (from the SC430)!

Sweet ride.
And I like the detail touches with the mesh infill on the grille and spoiler openings, which are two different styles on the standard model.
Cheers,
Mitch.

There is no such thing as an IS430 from the factory, although there has been rumours one will be built for the US market. At the moment they get the IS300 with the 2JZ-GE.

Yeah that "IS430" was a one off made by the good folk at TTE. As Norbie stated, there have been a pile of rumours that the IS430 was coming.
At least the IS300 is available in the US with a manual.
They should ditch the IS300 2JZGE VVTi and replace it with the 3GR-FSE (manual, of course, rather than the 6 speed auto).

Theres a write up on this in the current Motor mag. Toyota Europe got bored tinkering with F1 so they put 2 of these together. 0-100 in 5.5 or so, under 1600 Kg. The heads of Lexus had a look, liked it and decided not to go ahead with it cause their looking more towards hybrid power...
Biggest prob they said they had was getting the engine ECU to talk to the cars electronics.
Anyone know what the differences are with the Aust spec IS 200 / 300? do they just drop the bigger motor in, or are there mechanical upgrades as well?

As for handling Nark, it's likely to be a better handling car than even the IS200. The 3UZFE was supposed to weigh 6kg less than the 1GFE it was replacing, according to the guys who made that car.

Undoubtedly. I expected the weight to be quite similar, but the V8 is more compact so the weight is further back.
Should handle better than the IS200 and have the balls to make use of that awesome chassis.

The TT 1JZ-GTE is 25-30kg heavier than 1G-GTE.
Not sure about the 1G-FE.
