BATHURST Sun, 11 August 2002 22:14 Go to next message
who would be interested in staying over night in a hall?
Do we want some kind of driving event? If so what type
ie drags,hillclimb
I need a bit of info to go off.Overnight stay would not cost a great deal.
A small show and shine might also be on the cards with some local cars aswell but I need to know what we want.

The go is maybe 1 or 2 day cruise depending on what people want.
If there is a few of us I can try and organise something that could make for a great weekend but I need to know who wants to go
A date has not been set yet but will be when it is a bit warmer

Hopefully I'll have the Rolla running in about a month... That'll be completed with the stereo and all...
But, the Festiva will be the one in need of a tow Razz ... It's done 26,000kms and has had a the diff, gearbox and clutch replaced, and has gone through about 10 from tyres... It's 18 months old Eye Spin Eye Spin Eye Spin ...

Well, the Festiva better be there. Need some easy competition for the Cruiser. Don't know about the hill climb though. From experience, not too good there. Razz Drags and motorkhana should be OK for it!! Rolling

Hopefully the stereo will save the corolla from needing a tow... hehehe hehehe hehehe

ooo... sounds interesting!!
i think i might like to take part in such an activity. Sounds like fun! i'd also get to see some of the RARE RA28's in this club (so far i have only seen one)

hillclimbs, drags, dynos, show/shine's, show-offs, boozing up... etc etc
a bit of everything would be nice, like a toymods event if you will, try and get all walks of the club there! then come night time all the boys head out to the million pubs of bathurst

Hey a cruise to that neck of the woods would be great. Even better if we went up via the bells liner road. I was going to suggest a cruise up there.

If it two days could we please keep costs down. If Cool Tim doesn't mind I could sleep in the back of my car at his place (the benifits of a wagon, Plus its a seven seater so its great for pub crawls).

I'm up for any kind of event however I won't do well cause nothing much has been moded my beast.

who wants to stay the night
As for the pub crawl I don't encouage it at all as the weekend is about driving and cars.It is up to each of you to decide on where you stand on this.
We will have to set a date soon so keep an eye out

As for the pub crawl, I don't want to get too blotto, but it will be a good chance to have a few drinks together without us all having to drive home afterwards.

If the weekend is going to include organised driving events (especially hill climb / motorkhana) then I'll be extra keen. Might get my mate to bring his rally car along for the weekend if that's the case. Smiley =

OH - and i'll definitely be keen to drink a few beers with the boys. Nod

Head up on Saturday.
Observation rally (by the looks of things.
Muesem visit.
Cruise around if you want.
do we want the hall or camp??
The hall might cost a bit more but we will all be warm.
This is the basic plan at the moment

I'm in! Love bathurst. Tents or hall is good, I've got an extra tent too.

Went to Lithgow couple of weeks ago to rip a computer out of a JE Camira, coming back over the hill, 110-120 the whole way up!!! Round 45km/hr corners.

A little squirt is probably a quick run through the Nasho, fairly tame as usually theres a few cars around during the day. Round trip about an hour. We'll see how it pans out though. we may not get enough time.

Ben, in the adapter will be fine cause then we can play it back in the VHS so you dont need to transfer it unless you need to use the small tapes before Saturday.

Just trying to save you the hassle if its not necessary.

bit of an update
due to costs the criuse may be a day cruise only as we would like to see as many cars there as we can.
The date at this stage looks to be the 16th of November, earlish start so we can have a good day without having to "speed" everywhere
So now we have a rough date let us know if you can make it

So whats happening at Bathurst exactly??? Where is this stuff gunna happen??? Legal or illegal???

I wouldn't drive there and come back the same day... I'd be too tired and would proly fall into a microsleep... I opt for sleeping at Tim's house... Maybe we could throw in a few bucks towards Tim for his kindness of this offer...

i have an F#^%ing HUGE tent that can probably sleep about 8 people or more (depending on how squishy u wanna make it), so if tim has a spot in the backyard then im sure we can sort out something.
i also have a friend living in bathurst so i can probably crash there if it comes down to it.

I think doing it all in one day is a bad idea... we would have to get up at sparrows fart then have a short day then driving into the night... too risky i think....
how about head out friday night, crash, then spend saturday doing the do... then head home??

I think Tim's place is a good idea. I also have a mate in Bathurst who'd probably let us use his back yard and lounge room floor and stuff to crash if we need.

Doing it in 1 day is just too much.

Fuck money!! Bring pizza and beer and shit!!

I have an idea I've wanted to do for a while now, maybe this is the chance, I want to get a data projector and my home theatre gear and set it all up outside and watch a loud movie on it. Something like Fast and the furious would fit the bill nicely. Hell, I could even hook the thing up to a couple of car stereos and fuck, it would rock!!

This is sounding more and more do-able Sure would beat the drive-ins!!

Do you want to actually want to do anything else? I know toyrota was trying to organise something with the local rev-heads but I don't know how well he went.

We could just hoon around and visit the museum and take photo's on the hill and so-on. The movie thing is definently on if someone can supply a projector (and 1 OR 2 car steroes) - hell if we get 5 "fulsik" jobs we can have full "auto" 5.1 surround!!

Well if you guys want to come down this way then we'll do it! Loud steroes and shit aren't too much of a prob at my place and if they are, I have a friend that lives on 100 acres so we can make alot of noise there (fire too, oooh, I like fire) So you'll have to organise it between yourselves, I can get anytime off so work out when you're all free.

We can watch a movie, link up some PS2, hit the pubs that night, then spend the next day re-charging the cars!
