Supra/soarer A340 Hi-stall converter for sale Sun, 29 February 2004 23:34 Go to next message
FOR SALE:

Modified A340 hi-stall converter, pajero front, new kevlar lock-up clutch surface (has only been locked up once-my car is a full manual shift set-up)

Depending on engine power, stall is 3000-4000

I am selling this converter as the engine I am now running makes max torque at 3500 and was twisting the converter out to just over 4000 on the dyno (turbo 4.5 litre). (I need a lower stall speed)

This would be ideal for a big turbo/HP 7MGT, 1J etc.

The converter was recently cut open and checked out by MV automatics here in adelaide.

cost is $280 plus shipping.

My email is sgannon@mmal.com.au

Cheers
Sean

Thanks for the offer, but a converter thats around 3000 for a 1J will flash out to over 4000 behind the 4.5. The current converter was just on 3000 behind the big HP 5M I had but with the torque of the 4.5 it gets twisted out to over 4000 (and I haven't even hit 14 psi yet). I'm putting a stock 5M converter in which should top out at about 2900-3000 behind the 1FZ.

Yep-it will bolt straight up. I just gave MV autos a buzz to check.
