Maybe stupid question but i'm trying to find out what a Tension Rod Bar does. They are avaliable for the AE86, but cannot find much information on where abouts on the front end they actually go.

Haha thanks for that mate, I did actually find that site but like you say doesn't tell you a lot..
I was more curious as to what it attaches to, like the control arms or radius rods etc.

Looks like it goes between the radius rods and reduces flex in that area. I can't see it being very beneficial unless you already have some pretty hardcore suspension work!

Yeah it appears thats what they do.
My curiosity has been satisfied. Thanks
On the topic of reducing flex... For my own piece of mind I wouldn't mind adding some supports in the RA28 as it usually gets driven pretty hard.
I don't really want to go for a roll cage. But how beneficial are strut bars, front and rear? Most likely the triangular style.
Also seem welding inside shock towers etc.
Any opinions on this? Or am I turning into a ricer?

Mate, my strut brace made a really noticable difference, it was much more effective than I was expecting. You definitely should get one!

A front strut bar will be very beneficial, especially a triangulated one. Seam welding is going a bit far unless you're building a rally car! As for the rear, you have a live axle so there's really not much you can do there short of installing a cross-braced rollcage.

Hey Joel,
My front strut brace (under 200 dollars from memory) made a very noticeable difference.
Send me an email if you want any pics on what I did for the back end.
Cheers
