Why do you think it can't be done Glenn?
Wouldn't it be a matter of boring it out, slight lengthening of the shaft slit and fitting a bigger butterfly?

you may damage some of the idle vacume ports... which will basically mean they will be unuseable in stock setup, you could fix it by reboring your own ports though if you are going to go that far in terms of modifying them... there are easier ways though.

Not really, the walls are pretty thin.
As mentioned above, the silvertop's are 43mm and the blacktop's are 45mm.
If you want bigger, try Toby Hunt at Meridian Motorsport in Melbourne, he can get them nearly any size made up to order.

glen,
yes they can be overboored - you can take the silvers out to nearly 46, blacks i'm not sure but probably 48 is a limit (same as beams 3sge kit) main thing if finding a set!!
other thing is the cost - a mounting bracket has to be made to hold the t/b, then it has to be completly stripped then bored. new butterly & shaft has to be made. then reassemble.
bottom line here is it works out comparable to have throttle blocks made as bill suggested. - in most applications they are the better option.
generally the throttle blocks are about $180 ea + linkages
