almost all exhaust manifolds are cast iron.. if it looks cast, it is cast iron... it would never be 'cast steel' but might be welded steel tubes...
looking to weld to it?

what does it matter? this is a toyota forum.. 'the dayo' asked politely, and got a straight answer, since it was a 'tech' question..
wgaf what car it's in? you seem to have a bit of a thing for non-toyota motors hmmmmmm
stop with the irrelevant questions already. why not PM people when you have a personal question for them??

The CA18DET is actually a better engine to mod than the SR20DET.

In standard form the SR20 is a better engine, but if you are going to be building a hi-po engine package the CA18 has a much stronger block, larger water gallery's as well as other things that keep a hard working engine in tact.

I also believe the sr20 valves can let go at sustained high rpm, thou ive only heard this.
Majority of the drag silvia;s that ive seen in video's or on the net are all ca18's.
