 sprinter HELP urgent!!!

hello i am in the process of cutting my standard springs (im getting race bred suspension soon but need to roll low before i get it) and i was wondering what the process involves in getting to the rear springs? do you have to drop out the shock? how? also is there anything else i need to know? articles? what do you all reccomend so that i dont affect the handling too much???

dammit man! do you realise what im saying, im going to chop them (about 1 coils worth) and drive around for about a month until i get my lowered springs. i dont car about all this crapphola going down in all those posts, all i need to know is how to get to the rear springs.

You and people like you are why sprinters are gaining such a bad reputation amongst reputable car modifiers. If you injure anyone I know or care about while your car has chopped springs I will take every legal avenue possible to ensure you never have the financial or licensing means to get behind the wheel ever again.

really WHO CARES. there are people rolling around in shitbox gemmi's and VL's with NO SPRINGS.
i diddnt buy i sprinter to be a SAFE driver, and if anyone has ever seen me in my other car they might realise that.
ok ill change the issue so ppl might give me information.
if i was to be installing lowered springs from a reputable company how would i go about taking out my rear springs and installing the new, safe ones?

chopped springs if done correctly can sometimes be an improvement.
but most people don't go to the trouble of actually calculating how many coils to cut and end up riding on bump stops
most springs end up too short to get any decent increase in spring rate. and of course uncaptive.
there's a ae86 manual on this site if you bother having a surf before you post.

mate,
just jack the rear end up as far as you can go, and rip the old springs out......easy as that, just need a bit of muscle to clamp it abit in, so that it can clear the ends.
chop it up, put it back in, and you'll be fully sic.............bro

why dont you get your stocky springs compressed or something along them lines to get a ride height you want? cutting the springs makes your ride not only low but pritty bumpy.
I waited a month to get mine put on. When you cruise bro just get a full car load of boys and see how low your car sits was good shit

Nigz: If you re-read my post you'll see I wasn't threatening legal action for cutting his springs but rather stated that I would pursue it if he (or anyone else for that matter) injured someone I cared about while driving on cut springs.

i should have known this would flare up.
final word: cutting springs is stupid, no matter what the justification. Especially considering how cheap and simple it is to get your exsting springs reset, or to buy a new set. stop compromising other peoples saftey for your own complacency.
