You could make it fit but the output wouldnt be as high as a 4age 1.

Less problems with the 4age one.

no good. The 4AC is for a single V belt, 4AGE is a 5 row multi-rib belt.

And the issue of lower charge output as already mentioned.

okay, sorry, I had better re-phrase that, the RWD 4AC's in the sprinter (that I have seen) have had a single V belt.

What year is your sprinter cri_ag?? Maybe I've only seen earlier year models? Confused

its an 83 model, but i think at some stage someone has put airconditioning on it and then taken it off. that may have something to do with it?

it was probably retrofitted from an AE82 or something?

My AE71 had a V belt also...

I would NOT use the 4ac alternator. DEFINITELY go for the 4A-GE for the aforementionied reasons, and becuase it also sits on the other side of the motor!

my alternator is on the left hand side of the engine as you look at it from the front of the car is that not the normal position for 4ac sprinters?, arnt 100kw 4age alternators on the left as well? (when you install them in RWD configuration)
