There is only one way to find out!! - wind it up!

seriously though - it depends a lot on the state of the engine, as well as how sufficient the fuel system is..

my gt4's been running on 14psi for most of its life .. the bottom end is still in excellent condition , but i think the higher boost pressure may have contributed to my head gasket going pop .. ( aslo the fact ive done 210 thoussnd KM's )

Outside of the head gasket mine still shows a near perfect across the board compression test result , and blows no smoke ( pistons arent worn out yet )

Im also running the 13v fuel pump mod - to supply adequete fuel ..

My oppionion - if you choose to up the boost - maybe look at upgrading your head gasket, and doing the fuel pump mod - the rest of the motor wont be worried at all by 14psi ..

i think the stock turbo is out of tis' efficiency range at 12 psi anyway, been talking to the alltrac guys and they recon with teh stock ct26 it's pretty much useless going over 12,
i noticed even running ten on the stock one it starts to drop off around 5 grand, with the new one it stays on 10 all the way up to 7grand

With a 165 motor with stock internals I have run over 30 psi for 2 years and when I pulled the motor down all the bearings looked as good as new as did the pistons , The head gasket is the problem at the higher boost , The only reason I pulled my motor down was to deck the block so I could run a steel head gasket , as the head and block has to be dead flat to use a steel gasket , I also put a set of ARP head studs in , The steel gasket I am now using is a genuine Toyota gasket for a ST 205 ( $98 ) I also put a new set of ST 205 pistons in ( $382 ) I have been running 26 psi since the rebuild and have no problems , With this boost I,m putting out 272RWKW .
Remember no matter how strong your pistons are DETONATION will kill them !!

remember though those guys have the ceramic ones - not the steel ones like the group A's found on australian delivered st185's

the Group A ones are mapped to 18 psi or so for their fuel delivery , though i think its more to do with intercooling cooling + head gasket then the turbo being too small.

The air to air definanlty is on the limit approachong 15psi for heat dispersion..
Still i think if youve fixed the gasket , you should be able to up the boost to factory limit and just get that bit more fuel in with the mod i can show you - and it will be fiine until you start looking at aftermarket ECU's and higher boost again.

believe me - for just street fun - i find 13-14psi plenty fun, though im insane - and mildly disturbed because i want more power ( but also have the engine to handle it ) ..

If your down my way i can show you whats been done to mine, oh and if you have some play money - DEFINANTLY invest in the aussie exhausts dump pipe .. youll notice a BIG difference right there
