Hey whats up people. I was looking through some old forums and read that you developed some sort of a converter to run a stock VL Commodore tacho of a 1JZ-GTE. You said you might be selling them. Anyways I need somehing like that so I can run my stock MA-70 tacho of the 1JZ. Do you still have these converters? Would that suit my application? If you do have one I would be quite happy to buy it off you. I am not keen on swapping the guts of a JZA-70 tacho into my MA-70 cluster. Thanks in advance.

Tacho Converter

Hello Trev,
The tacho converter I first developed was for Skyline and VL tacho's to run off the ecu output of an RB20 Nissan. We are currently in the final stages of developing a similar converter for Australian tacho's to operate from a 5 volt Nissan or 12 volt (1J) signal.
It should only be a few weeks off being finished. I will email you when it is ready if you like.
Regards,
Grant

Trev,
I tried emailing you direct but the email bounced.
The tacho converters are now in the build stage. The test unit was trialled on a number of engine/tacho combinations and work without a hitch. Price is still be worked out but will be under $100. The firt few should be available in 2 weeks.

Hi Grant, want to ask if your converter will work with a microtech MTX8 output or the negative output of a 4 coil DLI setup? Running the original AE86 tacho? Thanks..

To answer that question you will have to ask microtech what the output is. If it is either a 5 or 12 volt square wave then the converter will work on the AE86 tacho.

it's a 12v signal, but I'm not sure if it's square wave coz I've got no scope, microtech don't seem to have website, so is there a number I ring?

Slow tacho

I just changed the guts of the tacho from the JZA70 but now the tacho seems to lag behind. At 100kph it is 800-900rpm out (shows 2000rpm should show about 2900rpm) and it hit the rev limiter it only shows about 5600rpm when it should be about 7100-7200. Any ideas? Thanks.
