What fits on a 4AFE , seeing as it has the same block as the 4AGE.
c52 from a 100kw 4AGE
c56 close ratio from a 20v
Seriously I need a new GB and a c56 was offerend to me and I'm pretty sure it would go on , the potential seller assured me it did also.
But do both these boxes bolt on the the 4AFE.

Hi Diz,
EvilJack just told me you were looking at this. The C52 and C56 should fit. Just need to check the starter motor as it might sit on the other side of the engine. Talk to Mortus - I think Mark has just put a C56 on his 4AFE.
Cheers,
Phil

NO!
If you are seriously considering a 4A-GZE conversion, then you should have done the research on it and found that the most cost effective way is to BUY A FRONT-CUT. Such a front cut would come with the correct factory gearbox suited to the HIGH TORQUE of the supercharged motor, with gear ratios that suit its power delivery. Also some of the GZE boxes have an LSD.
The GZE type gearboxes are:
E58-474 (non-LSD)
E58-11C (LSD)
E58-*** (if ends in odd number, it is LSD)

Well others seem to have proven that the GZE boxes are quite happy to cop a turbo, specially in a FWD.

The Rigoli built turbo 20v of Smantha's had an E58(from an AE101 GZE) gearbox that coped fine with the 400 plus horses that the engine made. I should imagine that an E58 will be strong enough for any project you are planning.
