vapour lock.
I'm not sure if that's the correct term, but it is the situation, on a carby, where the vacuume system switches from cold to hot operation, and if you turn off the engine - it will not start.- until it is cold again.
I get that at certain times of the year, spring/fall, the conditions seem favourable.
What exactly is this ?
and - I know somebody has the details.
Is there a remedy - will it go away with efi 4age ?

This is a problem that is suffered by cars like old Holdens, where when the weather/engine bay is hot and the engine is switched off, the fuel in the line to the pump turns to gas(vapour, not the yank term for petrol!), making it impossible for the pump to do anything. In 'conventional' EFI systems (including 4AG), a return line is used, therefore any vapour lock will clear within a few seconds of the key being turned on.

You know, we had a lot of fun tonight. But, theres nothing funny about... vapour lock. Its the third most common cause of stalling. So please, take care of your car and get it checked. I'm Joe Namath. Good night!
