1JZGTE queries Sun, 07 March 2004 02:57 Go to next message
hi, im thinking of buying a car with a 1JZGTE motor altho it will be auto,

the 2 cars im contemplating buying are the JZA70 and a modified cressida, MX83

ok so i was doing a bit of researching about the power output of the 1j motor, and found a site that qouted these figures

stock = 190 RWHP

with a three inch exhaust = 210 RWHP

exhaust plus 15psi = 230-240 RWHP

Exhaust plus 15 psi plus twin pipes = 270 RWHP

is this accurate? i know these are pretty basic mods and not REALLY expensive, and i mean 270 at the rears is like 201 RwKw

if this info is true to the word, surely the standard turbines wouldnt take the load for an extended period of time...

thanks heaps
chris

standard turbos can do 200rwkw, no troubles at all.

edit: for example, at the last dyno day my 1jz with standard turbos put down 190rwkw, using stock air filter, stock intercooler, and stock dump pipes (nb: this sort of power with the standard intercooler is probably not a great idea)
