getting the air fuel ratio correct. Sun, 07 March 2004 08:02 Go to next message
Hi there, just wonder after I put a r32 GTST(rb20det) turbo on to my 3tgteu, would there be a requirement for more fuel at the same boost levels or would they be about the same? if so what do I do, a few turns of the spring in the AFM?

im looking at running 7psi with the gtst(rb20det) turbo, so long as it performs as good as the ct20 ill be happy, the gtst at 7psi isnt going to need a intercooler either is it?

im guessing/hoping the rb20det turbo should flow a little more air than the ct20 at the same levels, therefor a little mroe power.

Yes, an RB20 turbo will flow substantially more than the piss-poor CT20. It's pretty hard to say what your air-fuel ratios will be like after installing it; I highly recommend you take it to a dyno and shove a gas analyser up its tailpipe. There shouldn't be a huge difference but a bit of AFM tweaking may be in order.
