Started pulling my car apart yesterday to change the gearbox, and with things out of the way I started thinking.. While it's out, I might as well change a few other things as well since it'll be easier than to pull everything out again later. So the list now is as follows:
* Starter motor. Have needed to swap this for ages, just never got around to it (will be really simple with the gearbox out of the way)
* Passenger side drive shaft (boot is starting to split, so what better time?)
* Steering rack. Boots are gone on both arms and there's a little bit of free-play.
Anyway, it got me to thinking - What's the most that you've ended up doing on your car after starting out with just one task in mind?
um just recently i accuired a new pair of shocks for nothing so i decided to chuck them in. then i saw that an outer tie rod was rooted so i replaced all 4 while i was there. When the car was in pieces i thought i might as well put new poly bushes in also. then i regreased up wheel bearings and damaged one seal so i replaced that.
