Digital dash for ST141 Mon, 08 March 2004 01:40 Go to next message
I've got a digital dash for an ST141 Corona, I'm not sure if everything works on it, but I'm sure someone out there would be interested, even to rip it apart. Unfortunately I have no way of testing it. Sad

Can you post a photo as I have a JZX81 dash with the speed display blown. It may be cheaper to buy another dash to make one than to get a replacement display.

Not sure when I could get a photo here as I'm currently moving house. But:
Tacho is a LED graph type display which arcs up and right. Speedo is digital read out, fuel and temp are on the right side as simple bar graphs. Display can be changed from km to miles too. Takes a normal mechanical speedo drive, and the wires going in appear to be the normal Toyota colours. It was in an Aussie ST141, and the loom for it was made in Australia. Looks similar to the MA60 ones in layout, but I dont know if the internals are all generic.

hey dude have you still go the digital dash?

what year was it off? a 80's one? and is it shaped like a trampisiam?
if so does it come with all the wiring off it cause even if it doesn't work i'll have it to screw around with Razz

also were did you get it from if you don't know if it works???

It would be off the 1984 Limited Olympic Edition Toyota Corona and will only fit the 2 litre carbie engined Coronas.

Definately will not fit the 2.4 litre injected models as that is what i tried to fit it to and the plugs that connect to it are in different positions.

I know this as i used to have one of these dashes which i offloaded to someone recently (i wonder if this is the same one).

If it is the one i am thinking of (the one i offloaded), then it works 100% fine as i took it out of the car myself and all wiring is there.

But, if you put it into a Corona, you wont need the wiring anyway as you would just plug it straight in. Unplug your existing cluster and plug this one in.

Looks really nice, especially for a Corona !!

hello i just put a digi dash in and they look great but with the fuel sender you'll have to get it out of the limitied corona. Also does anyone know if the digi dash fuel measure doesnt drop until under 15L of fuel left. Because mine is showing it is 3/4 of the bar full and i have only put 12 L in it.

well i put a new fuel sender in and if it's under 2 bars then then the other bars drop when you press the button but it isn't Litres, will last about 50km's.

I had a similar problem in an 85 subaru I have.
Did a turbo conversion & fitted the digital dash that came with the half cut.
Got a matching fuel guage sender somehow & then found in would sit in 8 (of 10) bars until about 50k's to go, then would drop to 2 bars & low fuel light.

I found that the plug on the sender had the wires in different spots to my Aussie loom despite having the same plug. I had to swap 2 of the wires (the power & earth, not the low fuel wire) & this fixed the problem.
Made sense because afterwards the wires on each side of the plug had matching colours now.

Might be the same thing with these. check the wire colours.
might pay to check with an auto leccy though in case is blows a part like a capacitor, etc up
