Japanese Import 2TG
Heavily Modded
Supposedly from a Japanese Race Corolla
Was in a Road car for aprrox 1000Km's in Aus
Unsure of exact Mods - Never been stripped.
Adjustable aftermarket cam gears
Aftermarket aggressive duration cams
Its probably a High comp 1750cc bored out engine - going by power curve - made most power up top safely to 8500rpm with more to go!
Could be a 3T Hybrid
Had around 230psi of Compression in all cylinders when in car.
Polished rocker cover
One of the best sounding 2TG's I have heard
Approx power 180HP
Comes with -
Lightened Flywheel
Brass button clutch
PRICE $1500
This type of motor would cost close to 5K to build!

Sounds like a good motor! Just have a few questions;
How did you get hold of the 2TG? (being an imported already mod'd)
With what you described, i can't understand why pulled it out?
Cheers

The engine was bought from Japanese parts importer....
The engine was in a 'play' car for a short while. Sold the car and kept the engine as a spare for my Rally Car. 2TG's are bulletproof if built properly and cared for...hence not needing it as a spare anymore.
Let me know if interested

Would this just go straignt in to a ke20?
Am wondering if you know of anyone who does engine conversions, not that i need it, i just need someone to put 4age engine mounts in!
Any help?

Mate, the details are way too sketchy. You need to have some proof of those internals, or some sort of proper figures for anyone to believe what you realy have. For all we know, its probably dead stock and "felt" like 180hp on your wet grass dyno.
Its probably a good motor, just more details are needed.

MRNOVA...Yes it should go in with celica mounts I think. Not sure as to who can put engine mounts in for you. You are in Sydney right? Dont know anyone there who could do it for you. Dont think it would be that difficult.
ae95...Thanks
Arch...Contact me if interested. You can have a closer look and decide.
Jonny2TG... If I had more info it would be stated. Thats why the add reads as it does. Power figures and work done are approximate figures... I am going according to my other 2TG which has 98 Rear wheel Kw's. Although in a different car they both seemed equal and as fast down my "test" road. The only reason I think its a 1750cc is that it wasnt as torquey as a "3TG" set up. But top end was incredible...
"On my wet grass dyno"... standard 2TG's or mildly worked ones dont even come close...No Comparison. This is a serious race spec motor and its upto the buyer whether he wants to beleive me or not. All I can do is lift the rocker cover and show what's been done.
Potential buyers please contact me.

hmm, 230psi sounds rather high for an agressive cam?
with 65 deg overlap and 10.2:1 static compression i had 145psi with freshly built motor.
sound smore like 10-11:1 with stock overlap??
whiever buys it, i'd be interested to find out some more details soudns shiny!
oh, and what induction does it have?

oldcorollas...Yes you maybe right...If I dont sell it I will strip it and have a look...when time permits.
No induction supplied with motor...Was running on 40mm solex's jetted to suit motor. Would be better to use 45mm Webers for this setup. The solex's were given to a friend as I had no need for them. Not the greatest carb in the world either...In my opinion.
ta2272...Injection! Do you have any idea as to how much a proper injection set up for this motor would cost? Guess? Well not for $1500 including motor. Cheapest option - Webers for under 1K. Or modify your existing solex's to suit.
Seriously powerfull motors cant be built for cheap! I guess with 2TG's you can build to suit your budget. However it will always be a compromise...
