Okay, im getting a pair of GrpA calipres and discs for the front. i know they're a direct bolt on with some slight cutting of the dust shield and that u can have them using the standard brake booster, but will this unbalance the braking of the car? Should i do something to the rears to even it all out? Im looking to upgrade to a 165 or 185 booster eventually, but this still brings me to the question of upgrading the rear? Would a set of x-drileld and slotted rotors and some better pads be sufficient? this would all be in stages so would it be a better idea to buy in stages and upgrade at once?
Any ideas would be great. Cheers
the calipers are a straight bolt on but if you want to used the disc you'll need to do some modification, the discs are larger in Diameter so they won't fit under stock wheels for one and the caliper may need to be moved out a bit further (maybe not too sure on that part) If you change to an ST165 mastercylinder and brake booster you shouldn't need to adjust the rears cause the 165 had the twin piston front calipers and the same single piston rear calipers the 162 has.
Rob has his GT4 front brakes with his standard booster and mastercylinder, he says that they work fine it's just the pedal has a bit more movement than it used to, so you need to push it a bit further to brake.
