is there any clear front indicators available for the ta22?. like the ones on the ra23?. i know they are a different shape but could they be modified to fit the ta22 without looking tacky?. would it be possible to get someone to make them custom?

ok, read this... if you want them you need to get them form the states. look at pics of my car at my site. these clear indicator lenses are available. in the states, the park lights are where our indicators are. and hence the indicators are below where our parkers are. find someone in the states like i did and see if they can chase you up a set...

while you are at it see if they can get you a genuine LHS mirror to match the RHS mirror on your TA22. if you are sucessful then congrats, but for these parts, i say good luck. although not impossible to obtian, they are not all that easy.

it's deffinately unusual and special to see a TA22 with a complete clear indicator conversion on the front. BTW, since the photos on my site, i have fitted AU XR6/8 clear side repeater lenses... looks very choice!!!

good luck!!!

The clear lenses you want were only on the GT or ST TA22 over here so are hare to come by. The set I have on my 22 are second hand from the US. LH side new ones seem to be impossible to buy Sad

Part numbers are:

81611 - 14020 RH
81621 - 14020 LH

Good luck and if you find a stash of LH side ones let me know Smile

i was luck enough to meet someone through www.classic-celiac.nl who was after a RHS mirror for his car in exchnage for a LHS for mine. while we were organising payment, etc, i happened to mention the clear lenses. the guy drove 4 hours return in the states to pick up the lenses for me from wreckers. they were second hand, but you couldn't tell!!!

as for the price, it was a direct exchange. he paid postage for one LHS mirror and two lenses here, and i did the same to return a RHS mirror and a pair of orange lenses to him!!!

i can't tell you how lucky i consider myself to have been able to meet and organise such an exchange. the guy was really nice!!! mr spears, i hope you can tell me of such a story involving you soon. check out www.classic-celiac.nl for plenty of celica guys in the states...

thanks for your help guys.

rod, what exacly have you got? would i posses enough money to relieve you of a pair?(would bill gates!!!!) you say you have a bunch of left ones? have you enquired about getting someone to make some copies (for the right side)? or would that b too expensive?

dorikin, ill try that site, do you remember the guys details, id like to try to hook up with him? did you use the name dorikin on that site? when you said about the rhs mirror, you dont want one do you? you were just sayin that theyre available over there. if i come across one ill let everyone know. i know this request is futile but would you put a price on your pair?

cool 1, and anyone else for that matter i hereby propose a pact that if anyone can find a way of gettin some of these we will let every toymodder in on it!

sorry for the long post guys but really want some of these things!!!
thanks again for your help guys!

nite spray, like spray paint, available at all good ricey stores...

it costs around $20, but it is illegal to use on your back brake lights, not sure about indicators and that sort of thing.

You have to make sure you apply it evenly otherwise it will look shite.

I know those clear lenses are rare (lucky bastards who have em, hehe) but how rare are those yellow GT indicators at the bottom?

mr spears... well i gotta say that i am very proud of my genuine pair of mirrors and clear indicators. as much as i believe that everything has a price, i don't imagine that what you would offer would ever be enough!!

unfortunately my previous email account where all such correspondance with the guy in the states has been rendered useless, and the information therein is lost forever. i have much information in saved email there, but i can no longer access it. damn microsoft!!!

as for that site, there was no such forum, like there is here. that guy just happened to choose me out of all the other Australian cars on the site to contact. so i guess i was lucky in that respect.
