found a small problem with my car last night when i took it out for its 1st hard slide sesion!
all i could smell was coolant, thinking to myself this anit to good so i drove home pull up in my driveway and all i can see is steam
question i ask is i have a ae71 with ca18det and i need a bigger radiator that will be a almost bolt in fit. i.e. i have cooler pipes running either side of the stock one so i cant go much wide maybe 1" each side
is there a old celca or something with a nice chunky radiator that i can find cheap cheap??

did u flush it during the conversion?
talk to a radiator shop they will probably have a triple core that they can weld your tanks onto.
also make sure your thermostat is working as well as the rest of the cooling system.

measure the core area reasonably accurately then ring a sizable radiator place that repairs and manufactures them - they'll be able to tell you what cars use that size, you then go wreckers, obtain stuffed radiator as advised, and get the above radiator repair place to fit a new core to he wrecker one.
Otherwise you have to remove yours from car to get them to adapt/repair. you also end up with a spare that you canrepair at your leasure.
you may have to make/modify the mounts on the side of the radiator (i had to attach aluminium strip to adapt my 3core to an RA40 celica as i got the wrong radiator from the wrecker (and i couldn't be bothered getting them to attach correct side mounts).
dont piss about trying to use 2nd radiators - they'll be either leaky or full of junk. If you have to drive to the radiator place, loosen radiator cap so it's not under pressure.
btw... if you have a leak that's obvious when cold, then under heat/pressure (which drifting will generate massive amounts of) it'll boil over and piss out the leak with great speed.
if you wanta drift seriously, get as many thermo fans as you can fit infront and behind the radiators. drifting is not condusive to good radiator airflow.
