On hard acceleration to around 5000rpm (6000 redline) the engine produces a strong sulphur smell...
I have been informed that the injectors may not be performing well, as the power that is produced by the engine does not seem to reach the back wheels. I.e - The automatic will drop 2 gears (5th -> 3rd )rev out to high 5000rpm yet the car will not take off until it changes up to (4th) - at around 4000rpm.
The car was imported however I highly doubt any cleaning products could still be burning in the engine bay..
something in gearbox? can you check fluid level and quality of fluid?
"power not reaching wheels" suggests gearbox not engine -can you pull one or two plugs to see how the engine is burning?
the gear-change spots suggest poorly serviced auto with possible excessive wear on bands/clutches.
Sulfer smell could be from trans fluid burning on exhaust - can you get under car with a decent light to check for leaks and sprays in the trans-cooler lines and around gearbox.
see if you can get a drive in Blake's (V8_MA61) 7M-GE powered MA71 to compare.

Have you looked in the back seat or down in the footwell?, any funny smells in a 7m powered vehicle just might be Allan hiding in waiting to take the boat anchor off your hands when it fails.

Could be that the tuning needs attention at that rev range. It's long been the case that when you follow poorly tuned cars that run on unleaded, the rotten egg gas smell behind them is a dead giveaway for being out of tune.
