I wont put any details of the car up yet, as it is getting a new engine at the moment.

It will be featured in Hot4's in a month or so.

Troyboy, Jakes is getting Rigoli to do the 4AGTE conversion to the engine.

Mikey, I'm sure Jake will give you a run for your money.

He should have it back by the start of next month, so we'll see then how he goes.

Cheers Norm.

Norm,

Hope he sorts out the traction and suspension, thats the hard part. Making power is simple, just a FWD getting down is very hard, and takes experiments.

Michael

Nope Oz_Craig your wrong =]
FWD Traction is about getting as much possible weight transfer over the front wheels and keeping it there, nothing to do with ride heights, stiff rear springs help though =] but there is heaps more than this to it, about keeping your suspension geometry as solid as possible without it twisting out of proportion to your driveline =]

but doesnt it help having the rear higher than the front as it stops the weight from transfering to the rear when ya hammer it?
correct me if im wrong

Re: Jakes IZQ 11K Fri, 24 May 2002 23:58 Go to previous messageGo to next message
In a pure drag application, possibly so, but its more spring and shock rates rather than height itself. You want some 90/10 shocks for the rear, so when the spring collapses the shock cops all the compression and rebounds hard ie transferring all weight to the front, you cant drive around the street like this, car starts to get unstable at higher speeds when cornering =] You need to compromise for a road car, maybe have some rear drag struts for the track though? O Mind you the problem with the 4AGE is not enough weight over the front wheels as motor is light.

Hey Mr Messy there is no exact figure on what it cost cause what i paid and what the receipts say are two different prices but you will get it done for around $4500 maybe a bit more in full leather or half that in vinyl it also depends on who you get to do it Master Trim quoted me $7800 thats why i used GT Custom Interiors
