RA 40, air con question. Tue, 09 March 2004 09:25 Go to next message
On my celica the clutch on the pump doesnt engage from the switch buit it will when i run a live form the battery. Theres no gass in the system. I have heaard that if theres no gas a sensor stops the clutch getting power from the switch, is this true?

there's a pressure switch inside the internal unit - looks like a simple pressure switch (AKA 18R RA23 oil pressure switch). Mine had leaked at that connector... <grrr>

plus, if you've savaged/cut the wiring for the emission gear (two vacuum switches/solenoids i think) near the carbi (on the 18RC) you might also disable the aircon.
