AFM question Tue, 09 March 2004 12:25 Go to next message
okie dokie

i have a question about air flow meters- in particular- ma61 ones.

ive been talking to knowledgeable car peoples, and they said that an AFM in a 180sx has a wire that senses how much air is entering- and this wire can get fouled up and could be the reason my supra is a bit sluggish off the mark.

does the ma61 have this wire doover? because they went on to say that it was dyno proven, that removing the mesh and stuff from around the wire gives maybe 5-7 kw.... provided you use an airfilter and a bug doesnt go flying into the afm.

anyway, could this be a problem with an ma61 afm?

thanks y'all. Very Happy

Negative.

You have a 'flap style' AFM, not a MAF.
