Just picked up a Toyota Crown Royal Saloon (USZ131) Frontcut from Moab's ... Its being delivered tomorrow.
I'm a very happy boy. Plans for it include aftermarket engine management, standard auto ECU, JHH Power porting, and other requirements for my daily driver (RA28 Celica)
two small turbos, and a custom intake/exhaust will probably follow down the track, but thats a lot of work away.
Thanx go out to Nilez for picking it up for me, and GiantTomato and KDog for their help selecting the right Cut for me.
Will most likely need a front sump for it (it has a mid sump) but I have both TA and RA crossmembers if i need to play with the setup. I'm told the Royal Saloon has separate ECUs controlling engine and gearbox, which might help me when i switch to aftermarket management, as I want to retain the auto, and perhaps build a tiptronic control unit for it. After all - Its a cruising machine!
I'd appreciate input on any other stumbing blocks people forsee. Hopefully I will be at home for once, and see some of you at a Toyota Car Club of Queensland meeting soon - I'll be the one with a big grin
Esteban

I thought 2.8L N/A was the biggest engine to put in an RA28?
Or am I just misinformed?

I have been busy doing night shift so engine is still sitting in the engine bay. I have been busy tidying up the engine loom so that she's ready to plug in to the Crown's wiring loom as a separate sub harness.
I have bought the steel and mounts to mount the engine and make the gearbox Xmember but they are just sitting beside the car. Engine-gearbox assembly will come out on Friday so I can massage the transmission tunnel to make a smidge of room for the bellhousing. So Friday will be the measuring day!
