2TGEU, starts, won't run.

After completing the wiring in my 2T --> 2TGEU conversion, the car starts but the engine dies after about 2/3 seconds. I can start it once more with the same result but then on the third attempt the thing just kicks over and won't fire. I've pulled out the (new) spark plugs and they seem pretty dry, and the no. 3 plug is starting to blacken a bit.
Is this a lack of fuel to the injectors or are the injectors blocked?
I've heard you can get a pressure tester for the fuel rail, where are these available from (pref in Canberra)?
Or could it be anything else?
Thanks

yep, sounds like fuel
check all your fuel pump connections and relays - this is by far more common than injectors being blocked to the point of the engine not running

Fuel pump definately is running, can hear it chugging away (it's so loud). What would be the best way to check if there is any blockages in the lines (I've replaced all the rubber hoses so only the metal hoses I expect would be blocked)?

hahaha, This sounds very familiar - I said I would never admit to this, however when hooking the pumps up I had the surge tank hoses on the wrong ones. Hence, sucking from an empty surgetank and pumping to the fuel tank.
Could you have done something similar with your main pump?

Check your injectors are pulsing. It sounds like the engine is starting on the cold start injector, which shuts off after 2-3 seconds leaving you with no fuel at all. A bit of probing with a multimeter should determine if they're doing their thing, but you should also be able to hear them clattering away as the engine turns over.

Thanks heaps for the advice. I'll have a look at the injectors tonight and find out whats going on. I doubt the fuel pump is connected up wrong as I'm not running a surge tank and if the pump was backwards I'd assume there'd be no fuel at all.

Check your connections at the airflow meter, and operation, if you are using standard 2TG EFI.
