BMW easter eggs? Wed, 10 March 2004 14:22 Go to next message
sorry if you've read this elsewhere, but i thought it somewhat amusing...

<http://www.popsci.com/popsci/auto/article/0,12543, 358540,00.html>

and image if you got some more creative easter eggs - like if you press all the cruise control buttons, a grainy AVI of the software design team pops up on the HUD and moons you... Laughing

That's awesome! Surprised

All I need now is to buy an M3 to try it. "Excuse me Mr Bankman I'm 22 and I'd like a loan to buy a new BMW M3" Rolling Eyes

In the Z4, M3 CSL and maybe other Beemers, press the ESP to turn it off and I does 'to a point'. It may still intervene slighty.

Even though it doesnt state in the owners manual, hold the button down for 7 seconds wil turn it completely off (no interference whatsoever)

But who cares ay! Surprised

Sorry to burst your bubble boys , but this is a M3 SMG feature called " Launch control " and is outlined in the owners manual.

I would also like to add - It is very fun and very sideways.

so it's more of a case of the yanks not actually reading the manual? Wink

still... what happens if the ECU blue-screens midway during a thru-the-roundabout-flat-stick-changing-into-3rd event... how long before you get it bacl into mega-wheelspin-plus-launch mode? Wink

then they'll have to install linux Razz
unfortunatly this means each driver's car will be so unique that no mechanic can figure out whats wrong with the car when something goes bad Razz

better yet install dos, then the car instantly looks like a volvo Razz
