2tg + 4ag TPS ?? compatable ??

ok, I want to be putting a 4ag TPS onto a 2tg Throttle body, does anyone know if this is possible >?>
I have an old school microtech setup for a 4ag but am goin to use it on my 2tg, so yeah wanna use the 4ag TPS cos it's a resistance type ?? I think... anyway.

That's exactly your problem.
The 2TGEU TPS has 3 stages. Idle, normal, >60% throttle.
And as you press on the accelerator, little arms in the TPS close different circuits, idle if bottom 2 touch, normal if nothing touches, >60% if top 2 touch. It has a little track which a runner sits in to connect the different arms. Take the cover off one and have a look how it works, very basic.
So, for this reason, running a 4AGE or anyother resistance one (3SGE, etc), wouldn't work.
Adjusting your TPS to be exactly correct is quite difficult, tip: if you get annoyed with it, just set it so the idle arms don't touch, throttle response will be good. (Having idle arm just touching should achieve same thing, but takes a bit more dicking around to get it just right).

Yes fitting a 4AGE TPS onto a 2TGE Throttle body will work , you might have to stuff around a little to mount it as the mounting holes are different , I removed the 2TGE TPS from it'backing plate , this way the plate will screw onto the throttle body then put the new TPS in place and drill new holes in the plate to suite the 4AGE TPS . The resistance type will have 4 pins .

ok, thanks for that guys.....
so basically there is a bit of mucking around, and if I make up a new backing plate for the 4ag one to suit the 2tg TB it should all work out....or I could be lazy and just get my mechanics to do it all for me, but I wanted to do this on ther cheap, meaning do alot of it myself....
I already have a manifold lined up... 3TGTEU injectors, ecu, just gotta make me up a loom and get me an efi fuel pump....
then just adapt the tps's
ok, thanks, btw, is there any other TB I can use that is bigger to suit the 2TG ??

not sure but i think a 4AGE throttle body might fit...bolt pattern looks the same on the 2TG EFI manifold..
