A tad bored so i thought i'd have a whinge... last night i headed off into the city for a night on the piss, was having a great time till my mate wasn't allowed back into the vic coz he was too intoxicated so we walk over the road to the exchange and get told that our shoes can get dirty so we don't comply with their dress codes now come on thats pathetic! Anybody else got some stories of times when they got knocked back? Also what sort of shoes/clothes do you guys normally wear out?
Jake.

You should have had a good old night in sitting on the toilet getting pissed. Here's some advantages:
1. You don't have a dress code. Infact, you don't have to get dressed. So you don't need to send a snooty club/bouncer on a power trip.
2. You save money on transport and time that could be used for drinking.
3. The major ammenity is right under you.
4. You don't need to put up with other drunks.
5. You wake up at home.
6. You wake up at the very place you'll want to be first thing.

Ah! I have a perfect solution for that one, don't you worry.
Just have a quick wank as there is 0% chance you'd remember anything (and IF at that), have had happened at all anyway, and this way at least you'd remember something.
And remember, you're still sitting on the toilet so it's convienient and you don't have to put up with a dog in the morning or having to urg "talk" erg.

I got rejected from the Exchange on a Thursday night once. I was dressed up and was told I was 'underdressed'
Then I told the guy that his mum packs his dad with a strap-on in the nicest way I could.
I believe he didn't let me in 'cos i've got long hair, btu I was ready to lean over the rope and drag his pretty-boy arse onto the street.
<end rant>

i like dance clubs... they will not let you in if you have any of the following: im a big fan of this policy....
# gay walpaper shirts with ridiculously large collars
# black leather "dress shoes"
# fancy pants
# gold chains (lots of bling)
needless to say - never knocked back

Stocky is a peice of shit. dont even bother going there. I quite happily get into the vic all the time with a nice collar shirt and black jeans with skate shoes that were almost fully covered by my jeans anyway. they wouldnt let me in... just as im about to walk away i see 2 guys with normal shirts, jeans and sand shoes let in.
so another day, im completely fucked(like COMPLETELY(couldnt walk straight at all) with jumper... jeans and some black leather shoes and they let me in.
I think its pretty much having leather shoes
The port office is more stupid though. Sometimes i get in there like a complete bum.. then the next week i go back fully dressed up to same bouncer and he doesent let me in cause im not dressed up enough.
But the 2 chicks thing works great, didnt get let it... so got my ex and my friend jacqui which are both 10/10... on either side and they dont say anything

i got knocked back from Bimboz in fitzroy because i hadn't been home from work yet, so i was still wearing my office shirt/slacks/black shoes.
apparently "office atire" isn't a part of the acceptable dress code, because it stops the bar being funky and cool. the key to funky and cool, you see, is to be wearing a tee and jeans. FOOL!
funny.. 5 years ago you couldn't get into a bar/club without a collar, and now they prefer you in a tee. crazy shit!

worst one i've had is lining up for about 20 mins, when i'm 5 or so people from the front i've been told that i can't get in with my shoes, when a chick standing right next to me is wearing the same shoes and doesn't get approached at all

Seee...we girls are good for many things
Newcastles tired when it comes to dress codes. Fannys was trying to adhere to theirs, but it really didn't work cos they're money hungry and need the clients. I know most of security there so I've got no troubles Frosties is the next best thing for dress codes.
I guess I'd just hate to go clubbing and be a guy. There are way too many rules imposed for them. Yet there are two-dollar skanks walking around in two-dollar clothing that are allowed in wherever, whenever. I don't go clubbing much for that reason, I hate the skankness of the whole scene. Supre should be banned!.

you brissie boys need to get into the valley...they dont give a shit about dress code...actually, if you look like you've come from the city they wont let you in
music is better, drinks are cheaper & lack of meat heads...good place to head out for fun time. If you want to pick up go to the city

if you go to a club with at least a collar, desent pants (not jeans) and decent shoes theres not reason they won't let you in.
So if they say you can't go in, say you want to talk to the manager cause your a lawyer and tell the bouncer you just discriminated him
that'll make him pack himself

in sydney there are plenty of places to go have a bit of fun without the meathead/pickup/tool/dressup/wank factor. Here's a quick rundown:
# Gas - Saturdays nights go off (yoshi, vixen, etc)
# Sounds on a Sunday - THE perfect sunday arvo chill. Nice outdoor settings, HEAPS OF HOT CHICKS having fun, very very low tool factor
# Sublime - can occasionally get tools, but still not a wank club
# YU - nice, cruisy and fun
# Daydreams - ever bored first thing on a sunday morning?
Of course you have to like dance music to be able to put up with these places. But there is no such thing as dress codes there - in fact they wont let you in if you are dressed up most of the time (of if you look like a tool/wank clubber)
Personally, i think sounds on sunday is the best. Its at Greenwood hotel in north sydney, from about 4pm -10pm (midnite in summer). THere is plenty of eye candy (if you want to see it), plenty of choices of good music (house, breaks, hard house, etc), everyone is happy (no one looking for a biff), and its just fun. Check it out.

only clubs I ever go to are goth clubs or gay clubs.
And I never get hassled at either, 'cause I have long silky black hair, which everyone seems to love

I usually go out in silk CK pants or dark/nice jeans with a shirt and polished Italian leather shoes. The worst knockback I ever had was at Sublime@Home when dressed nicely BECAUSE IT WAS CASUAL DRESS NIGHT!
Where's everyone off to tonight? I'm back off to Sublime!
