Hey Guys!

i have recently brought a 1ggze supercharger SC14.
im am using for a coustom kit..

some questions i have,

what oil to use in the charger, i was told 90wieght.
any other ideas?

also i need to know how the clutch system is set up on the toyota engine. how it works on the vacume switches where they are, how the engine sucks air when the charger is off?

is there any manuals online or anything?

how could i set up the kit to work on a diffrent engine what needs to be done.

what ever ideas and help would be grate.

Hey Buddy, good to see a new name on the forums.

The oil you require for the supercharger is available through Toyota spare parts departments.

The Clutch works the same as an airconditioner clutch. The cluth engages and drives the supercharger above 1200rpm. You could use a simple toggle type on/off switch, as used by the guys who set up 1GGZE superchargers on 3.8 litre V6 Commodores.

The manifolding on GZE engines has a blower bypass, through which intake air is drawn when the supercharger is "off"

Hope this helps "a little"

regards Chuck

hmm i guess i need to rig some air bybass system for when its off. any ideas on that.

i would be good if anyone has some pictures of that part of the engine. i cant find any.

woulD you know a alt oil to use, i was told a 90W snth, whats the OEM worth.

i might have to make the pulley smaller. but with the clutch setup it aint very smart. what diffrent on the HKS one.
also i need to convert it to a Vbelt ..ideas?

The HKS pulley is for the crank not the S/C, you leave the S/C pulley as is.
I think the toyota oil is about $30 for 50ml, need 100ml from memory.

I've never heard of a HKS crank pulley for the 1GGZE. The 1GGZE was not considered a performance engine so there is very little in the way of 'go-fast' bits for them. From memory, I don't think you can swap the smaller 4AGZE blower pulley either as it has the wrong belt offset. Anything you do will most likely have to be custom made.

As for oil, a good syntehtic engine oil like 5-50 is fine. Other oils like ATF or power steering fluid may be thinner (and better) but I'm not sure how they would effect the casing seal (o-ring).

Crank pulley dia. is 155. As explained before, heavy oils are not suitable for the 1GGZE. They are designed to operate with light lubricating oils.
