Carb gasket question Mon, 15 March 2004 00:08 Go to next message
I have me a Fuel Miser 'Carburettor Repair Kit' ($64.40 from Autopro West Gosford in case you're wondering) to attack the 4ac with on the weekend.
I can't can't find anything telling me whether or not the gaskets should be coated with *something* before being installed?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Nick

I might be wrong but i reckon their ok as they are, you only use silicon or Gasket Goo when the gasket is a bit worn or you dont have a Gasket. Anybody else?

Usually little bit of that Gasket goop stuff never hurts, can't remember the brand of the stuff i used on mine when i did the gaskets. It also helps, as its slightly sticky, so if the gasket is in a prick of a spot.

Auto silicon can be a bit of a problem if you use to much, it can get sucked into the intake.
