Confessions of a Ford fan - Here me out before you skin me

Hi All.
Yes I admit it, I'm a hard core Ford fan, and more of a street machiner but 0 my 2 favorite car companies Ford, followed very closely by Toyota. I love my RA60, even if it is a smoke spewing rust bucket at the moement, wouldn't part with it for the world.
Keeping this in mind, also the fact that I couldn't give two hoots about keeping things standard, what would you guys think of a Toyota/Ford Hybrid.
Combining two of the Best cars each has to offer.
The Awesome Toyota Supra

and the Legendary Ford Pantera
.
Using a Supra as the starting block then adding a supercharged 1UZ-FE mid-mounted donk, and body styling in the spirit of the blue oval Supercar . a pair of 16x10s on the back, 16x8s on the front
Steal a full black leather interior out of one of the luxury cars.
I think it would be awesome.
What do you guys think??

As long as there is no Ford badging and the kit doesn't make the Poor supra look like a rape victim.
Interesing Idea. Lot of body work to the rear and front but has possabilities as long as anyone that owns a supra doesn't get their hands on you for kitting a "work of art"

Nah - no badging at all, just so everyone can't figure it out.
Don't worry my other plan is to put torana guards on my LTD, and a possibly putting a 4A-GZE into a Ford laser
All grandiose plans that probably won't happen, but I love to dream

i didn't think ford had any thing to do with the DETOMASSO pantera, other than supply engines to the company that did make them, how ever that is beside the point, if you love your fords and like your supra, there is someone else on here that you may want to speak to, think his name is v8ma60?,,,, feel free to corect me.

I was pretty sure that it was a De Tomaso Pantera also... I know it had a ford engine. That doesn't make it a Ford though.
I couldn't check to see if I was corect earlier because I was at uni and my Pantera was at home in the garage.

Yes it is detompaso - but theres also strong ford links to its origin ..
heres a history lesson :
In the late 1960s, Ford was in need of a high performance GT to combat the likes of Ferrari and Corvette, and assist in generating additional dealership traffic for its mainstream product lines. DeTomaso Automobili was relying on Ford for engines used in the Mangusta and had purchased the Ghia design and coach-building concern. After Fords failed attempt to purchase Ferrari, the Ford-DeTomaso marriage seemed quite natural, so a business / purchase arrangement was consummated and work began on a new mid-engined GT. It would be marketed in the U.S. by Fords Lincoln-Mercury division.
There you go
anyway - it would make for an interesting priject - morso an original pantera with a twin turbocharged 1uz in place of the ford v8
THAT would be fun

Yeah Ford bought a controlling share of DeTomaso in the 70s, they had always used ford engines so it wasn't a far stretch.
Then DeTomaso bought the share back again but agreed to supply the Pantera for an additional 10 years, so in essence its not really a Ford persay but it uses a Ford heart and was designed in conjunction with Ford engineers and was commissioned by Ford, so its makes it pretty much the same thing.
Of course, another thought would be to take a fully worked clevo and drop it in the supra,
clevo weighs a shitload but with put out about 500HP and hell of a lot of torque.
9 inch diff and tricked up gear box to handle it.... hmmmmm.

Aparently the DeTomaso Pantera is one of the worlds most unreliable and uneconomical supercars(with the 351).. they do look nice but..
Good luck on anything you do with your car.. its not easy for it to look bad.

Hmm nice one dude! That Ford rocks!
I really want one of those GT40 kit cars you can get in Vic.
www.roaringforties.com
I have had secret thoughts about how the new BA turbo motor would go in my supra. I'm sure there is room.

I was wondering if my comment would provoke a response
My Mrs has told me in no uncertain terms, that there will be no engine swapping in my near future. I only got away with the 6mge because the 5me was blowing smoke.
I dream of taking home a front cut from a chaser with a VVTi
2jzgte Still, for now, most bastards at the lights can't touch me, and the new suspension is godlike.
Check out my new avatar, me on the straight at Eastern Creek and yes that is a WRX "behind" me. The next corner I was toast hehe

since we are talking Fords
that Marcus Ambrose is a fucking legend and the Pirtek Ford has been great for years!
Stickin it to the hoards of sheep that follow that stuck-up ex-nissan driver Skaife and his red and white Holden puss box.

I truly despise Mark Skaife, not for driving a Holden, I don't mind Holdens really, But Skaife is the most arrogant self riteous prick on the track at the moment.
The only guy I like less than Skaife is Moffat.
But it sure is nice to see Ford starting to win again.
