1UZ Starter Motor

Does anyone know the symptoms of a stuffed 1uzfe starter motor?
Is it the solanoid that goes? brushes? rust?
Every now and then, I just get a click, nothing else.
Is this the typical 1uz starter failure?
If I put the car in 5th, roll it a few inches, she will engage.
Battery power is not the problem, nor is the cabling itself.
Ideas? Thoughts? Views?

I had this problem.
Your wire is TOO THIN. Or your connection is not good enough.
This can be either the LARGE wire to your battery, or the trigger wire. (I had to re-wire both ... a few times)

Well, the main wire is 4 guage, and I'm pretty sure the joints are perfect, but the trigger wire is original MX73, so that could be too small.
I'll look into upgrading that

Yeah, thats a fairly typical arrangement to bypass dodgy wiring, but definately something to look into
Cheers
So what is the typical starter failure? or is it just dodgy wiring on the owners behalf?

i had to do that for my 18R as sometimes i was only getting 6-9V from the start switch inside the cabin.
it is a risk for theft (makes jump start v.easy) ... but is cheaper than a whole new starter motor/solenoid.
damage is usually to the solenoid windings getting a bit hot when being held open with only 6-9V instead of 12V. Also, pitting on contact surfaces of the solenoid also contributes to poor performance.
