Fuel pump speed control

Just doing the wiring on the 1UZ. There is a fuel pump speed control output on the ECU that seems to act thru a relay and I presume it's there to alter fuel pressure (I presume during startup). Is this correct and is it necessary?
For what it's worth, I'm using the ubiquitous VL Commodore fuel pump.

I thought it slowed the pump down at idle and maybe light throttle? Not sure how necessary it is. The Nissan RB engines that i've wired up just didn't connect it and seemed to be alright.

If it's anything like the GA70 one it slows the pump down at light throttle and cruise to reduce the noise and switches to full voltage under heavy throttle.

Good. Another wire to the "IGNORE" bundle.

Yup, ignore it. My 2JZ had the same deal and I just bypassed it.
