18rgeu wire colours Mon, 15 March 2004 09:44 Go to next message
Im trying to wire my efi but have a few problems. When it say blue/white for example does that mean blue wqith white stripe or can it also mean white with blue strip. Just i have a wire from the afm that is blue with a yellow strip but theres no listing so i dont know where it goes. i thought maybe i had different wiring but the computer and someother thing possibly fuel relay both have 18rg on them. How do i figure out these problems. Anyone in brisbane that can give me a hand would be great. Thanks.

if u have probs tryin to understand blue with white strip then best left to a pro

colours of wires can sometimes be wrong

if u make sure the diagrtam is correct

try tracing some of the wires and see if they go to the correct spot as on the wiring diagram

this will tell u if its correct

Check everything with a multimeter. Trust nothing. Doing my 1UZ one at the moment and I'm suprised that there are wires the same color coming out of the ECT box that do totally different things just to confuse you!! Shocked

The wiring diagrams are generally pretty straight forward. Something like "BY" means blue wire with yellow stripe. I suggest you get someone to give you a hand or just take it very slowly. Last thing you want to do is fry the ECU.

also on the older ECUs take the cover off and look at the pin outs. It says what each one is. and check your other post Smile

Not every ECU has the wiring diagrams on the cover.
I have a Stock 18RGE ECU and it doesn't have it in it.
the cover was never off until I removed it.

Try taking off the other side. I seen an 18rgeu ecu and a 2tgeu and they had the markings on the pcb board. Confused
