Looking for Tyres, how much should 205/65/R14, or 195/70/R14s be?

I've put if off long enough, now I really need to get some tyres. I want either 205/65/R14's or 195/70/R14's. I've got about $200-250 to spend, what do you think's a good price for some half decent tyres? I've just started looking today, and I wouldn't mind a rough guide as to what the price should be, thanks.
Any particular brands recommended, or that I should steer clear of?

I went to beaureapairs this arvo, and was quoted $105-130 per tyre. That's wayyyyyyy too much. What other options do I have? I'd rather not go 2nd hand again

I definetly think you'd be pushing it to find new tyres in 205's for even the $250.
You may be able to get the 195's...I'd be a little wary of the sort of quality you'd be buying for that price though.

dagnamit! Looks like I'm going to have to rebudget everything then. Or look for some bargains in the trading post. I saw some 15x7's (4 nuts) with 80% tyres once for $250, but the wheels were probably buckeled at that price.
looks like 2nd hand tyres for me

I'd say something like the Trading Post is a good bet. I met someone through there, got my 15x6" Soarer rims with 205/60R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE711's for $450 all up!

It's abit harder when you're looking for 4 stud tyres though. Oh well, it's time I quit my whinging and started looking for some tyres and maybe wheels
