i bought a 2nd hand ST205 oil pump, and though it is probably just fine, i'm wondering how to check whether it is within spec? how can i check?

Take the base plate off and measure the clearances between the gear and housing with feeler guages, Toyota will provide the specifications if you ask nicely?!

cool. so Toyota Australia would have the specs for this pump? i don't suppose it would be the same specs as my 3s-fe pump?

i found some specs here for 1991 MR2:

(about half way down the page under "inspection of oil pump")

i imagine these would be the same for my ST205 pump?
