Is there any way to reset the 'cold start' is it..that idles the 1g-gte in the morning to a lower RPM ??
Mine starts the morning at 2000 rpm and drops as the engine temp rises to about 950 rpm. IS there a way to disconnect it or reset it for lower rpm say 1500..
thanks

you would have to modify something on the aux air valve - connected to the front end of the intake maifold plenum.
i'm not sure if there's an adjustor to control the amount of air can pass around the Throttle body.
lazy option might be to pinch the air-line feeding that valve.
but if the ECU is determined to cold-idle at 2k, then it will simply open up the aux air valve more. (The valve is a stepper motor not a simple solenoid - so it can vary the amount of air being fed into the plenum.)

Why exactly do you wish to idle at the lower speed when your engine is cold?
I have a 81 celica, and I like that the autochoke works!
Why endanger your engine to cold temp damage? Especially with winter coming up?

hmmm...the last i checked we haven't had winter in Malaysia for a long time....
The main reason i suppose would be to conserve fuel..and try to minimise friction wear on cold start ...
cheers
