it'd be a 2litre (EJ20T) wrx!
you challenge a rex then you insult his intelegance (yes i know i spelt that wrong!) by saying he must be proud!

yeah, I was gonna say
you go him, he beats you.
He's probably not terribly proud about it, but he still went for it.

depends on the mods to the gze, the mods to the ej20t and the drivers!! I've heard of a n/a, none efi ke20 beat a worked VL turbo at legal drags before
i remember a while ago i challanged a wrx in my ex's worked 308 vk, needless to say i ended up thinking afterwards "why the fuck did i do that". it was raining at the time

rexy driver wasnt even tryin
there is no way in the world ur old skool fwd is gonna even with a rexy for first few second. if u seen a rexy launch b4, u know that once he takes his foot of the clutch, its like a sling shot, its all over for u
nuthin wrong with u having a run with him but makin him look bad on here after u lost isnt very right, he prolly didnt even know u were racing

you wouldnt win unless he stalled , then had to start the car again
Trust me - inknow from a " why the hell not " run i had in a ta22 agaiansst a rex with p plates ..
he stalled it - i took off - me and my passenger laughed ourr arses off
Anyway - 200 meters later - a red flash went by me .. it was the rex
no hope of keeping up

I kept up with a rexy the other night, he even told me to pull over after and commented that my car was quick.
Mind you I am running 7psi of boost with mods below and my car is running shit, and he had a full exhaust, BOV and running 13psi, so I was pretty happy, I dont believe relitively stock rexys are that quick as my car isnt extrememly fast.
Lookout when I get my turbo conversion, intercooler and more boost

Can't wait to give a rex a go in mine when i get it back after the conversion, nothing really special compared to yours ta23 just a stock 3T with a front mount 1ggte intercooler, a back in the 80s HKS BOV and a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, i'm also thinking of upping the boost a tad to around 10psi.

Yeah. Being a 4wd the rex would have an awesome start. I raced one the other day and he was a body length ahead of me by the end of first. He never did pull further away from me than that, but it was the start that killed me. The just launch..

Just to stir the pot a bit -
The only wrx I have raced was at willowbank test and tune..
I was in a 1ggze corona (and bad bad auto ) - ran a 15.
He ran a 10.09 (on of the quickest wrx's in QLD)
I got a great launch (as good as it could be anyway) and was ahead for about 1.5 seconds.. so i def beat him off the mark.
After that was a different story though (I got to see his time before I finished!)
I've been lead to believe that wrx's (especially worked ones) are quite tricky to lauch well.. In fact they often get a better launch in the wet?

i didnt like launching my mates wrx, it just seems really wierd.
but in the wet ya just rev it up, and you can be a bit harsher with ur clutch, so you loose traction for a little bit,(wierd four wheel drifting!!!) and then get traction in a second..
but in the dry it felt like i was gunna snap a driveshaft or something
