SC12 Noise	Mon, 20 May 2002 04:14

Hi guys... My charger makes a ratlle noise when i rev it... (from the engine bay..) u hear this rattle on high revs... any ideas? the other question should i be able to turn the sc when the engine is off by hand? [Report message to a moderator]

Maybe one of the bearings has had it. Yep, the supercharger should spin freely by hand. The pulley design in the later GZE engines means that you have to take the belt off to spin it. [Updated on: Mon, 20 May 2002 10:03] [Report message to a moderator]

ok so with this spining charger sorted.. (Thanks for that Matt) what about this bearing.... is it bad to keep running it? shoud it be fixed? will i damage anything if i leave it how it is? how do i fix it? another thing.. would changing the oil fix it or help at all [Report message to a moderator]

I also have a very audible whizzing sound from my charger.....how often do u guys replace or top up the SC oil? [Report message to a moderator]

Check that somethings not loose in the clutch too. And is the wizzing noise at all because you've got a lampshade filter? [Report message to a moderator]
