Battery in boot??? Wed, 17 March 2004 05:06 Go to next message
Whats the idea behind putting the battery in the boot other than so give more engine bay space..

How does it work..?

do you need long leads to the starter??

how about the earth leads.. will the charge go to the motor if the terminal is in the boot? or do you have to have long leads for the earth wire too??

When i start my conversion.. i will most likely ned as much space as possible.. how much is a boot battery kit worth??

No probs, just don't do it again or we'll run over your legs! Very Happy

Sorry for being a bit harsh, but this is the sort of stuff that we're trying to cut down on.

Danny Boy: Hard but fair.. i think he was on rove last night if anyone watches it..

Its hardly seems justifiable to run over someones legs and potentially cause permanent damage to ligaments and tendons due to the crushing force of the Celica just for making an honest mistake..

i can do battery relocations if u want

i stock the heavy duty cable and connectors
u just need to get battery box

u need a long one from starter to battery pos

then from engine block to chassis

then from battery earth to body

u also might need to rewire the power from orig batt pos to fusebox and alternator aswell

Any auto or marine shop.

Also I'm not sure what other states require, but In Qld a relocation of the battery requires an engineers cert. Any batteries being carried in a car that are not certified are considered as being dangerous materials and if court, your insurance company will rape you bad.
