Harmonic Balancer on a 1g-gte Thu, 18 March 2004 08:09 Go to next message
Anybody tried to get the harmonic balancer off a 1g-gte?
I've got the bolt off no worries, but the fucking balancer doesn't like to come off.

Any ideas?

Secondly to that, anybody got any ideas on the replacement water pump on a 1g-gte, or a replacement gasket for the front of it?

I had to accquire a puller to remove it, three "arms" go behind it and it just winds itself off.

Its the main crank pulley on the front of the engine. Drives pretty much everything on that serpentine belt. Power Steering, Alternator .. few other things.

That falls apart (like it does sometimes on 1J's!!) then everything stops working Smile
