I want to upgrade the Air flow meter on my 18R-GEU to a larger size. has anyone done this before and what gains were had? at the moment i think it has a 3T AFM on it and it looks very small.
what late model toyta motrs used a flap type airflow meter that would requre no wiring cahnges or very little wiring changes.
Would a AFM off a 22R-e be any benifit? i havent seen one of these but i guess it would be fairly easy to obtain and reasonably cheap too.
hey dude you should only upgrade the AFM if you are doing something else to your motor that requires the change i.e. cam and bigger injectors
just changing the AFM will cause uneven fuel ratios at different revs, it may run lean at idle then way too rich up top and this is with tuning the AFM meter cog inside the black box, your better off with bigger cams and injectors then to change it
i have had the head ported and as it is i think im running a 3t air flow meter and computer so it isnt right anyway. i can always change the overlap and stuff if i need to.
you wouldnt have a second AFM off a 22R-E would you celica mad? tha ti could maybe purchase or try out for a little while?
