thanks :'(!!!!

I would recommend whipping the head off and getting the head looked at. I suspect it will be bent like a banana. Also look at the bores. I suspect the bores will have picked up in 4 'corners' suggestive of a grossly overheated engine. I'd imagine you'll have broken a few rings. Of course, the bores might be fine and the head might be straight but the fact that the engine was making bad noises would suggest to me that you cooked it good.
I think the easier option would be to buy a good second hand motor from an importer and replace it. If you (and your dad) are comfortable doing this, then hop to it. Remember to replace front and rear oil seals and timing belt.

ahhh bugger mate, tahts not good
i did the same on my 3s-gte , it's a bitch
in the end i just decided to get a new engine coz a new head was a grand, i got a whole new engine for not much than that,
and u can pick up another 3s-ge for about 300 - 400 bucks, so if they quote u some stupid price might be worth getting another engine with low ks and putting that in
sorry to hear man, i know ur pain

I got your page on ICQ but have absolutely no idea how to reply to it so I'll reply here.
The price of a 3SGE will depend what generation 3S it is and where you buy it from. All I can suggest is that you ring around the local import wreckers in your area and see what they go for.
Buy on condition but do try to avoid high kilometre units.
