EPC for sale JDM 1969-2001 Thu, 18 March 2004 13:05 Go to next message
all 5 discs for $20 shipped.

for an extra $5, you get an AE86 chassis and body manual and 4AGE manual on CD, which is scanned straight from the genuine manuals, and is in HTML format. it also includes a blacktop 20v manual in pdf format. it's $10 by itself.

cheers
steve

How hard is the EPC to install?
I have a version which is an absolute PIA, I still haven't been able to install it. Goes along the lines of, you can't have more than 2GB free and have to be running fat16 or fat32, you can install it on other systems but it's really hit and miss.

don't think you can be too harsh on him Steve-AE86, at least he isn't *selling* copyrighted software.

im all for the distribution of the epc, its not like you can go and buy it from toyota, and im sure the parts dept staff appreciate being given part numbers rather than some vague description...

steve let me know if you find anything out, cheers.

go ask the local Toyota shop how many copies of the EPC they have and how much Toyota HQ charge them per license.

Put it this way, Southside Toyota in Brisbane has 1 copy in the spare parts office. And they are a pretty big dealership.

Anyway, I'll pull my head in. Sorry for the intrusion.

Good luck with the sale.

callifo: sorry mate, misunderstood. no hard feelings.

ab: cheers

spectral: if you class *selling* as covering costs, then thats ok....if you notice, this includes postage to anywhere in australia, and it's my time to sit in front of the PC, which i dont have a lot of.

Oh, yeah...i work for a Toyota dealership, and 'I' dont care... Very Happy

not only that, but not all dealerships have the JDM EPC. i know that for a fact. so how would someone go to their local dealership, and buy a new waterpump for their Chaser if they didn't have a copy.

on top of this, our dealership copied it from another...so do you think they really care???

no offence meant to anyone...still recovering from lack of sleep after driving to melb and back for drift nats.

Terry,
I am a complete computer idiot and a bought this from Steve and installed it and it works fine. Yes, you do get the same exploded diagrams you see at the screen on the dealership parts counter, and remember the right mouse button is your friend.
Worth every cent, saved me a heap of $$$ and time already, and highly recommended. Steve is good to deal with.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Munki,

It does list the 18RGEU and covers whatever GT models the factory produced from no earlier than July 1981, so that means the A/T/S/R/G/MA6x series, up to the ZZT23x, introduced in 1999.

Steve,

I gather from the discussions that it covers the MA61 Supra (Mk 2 from 83 - 86.4.

If it does, is it the JDM versions or the Aussie parts ?

If you are in Adelaide, what is the pickup price ? Razz

Cheers

Michael,
Steve has not responded yet mate, so I will jump in.
Yes it does cover the MA61, but it is in with the xA6x series Celica models.
I'm not sure about your next question, but you can select different markets on the CD to view just those models that went to that market. I have not checked for Aust, no point really, I have it set to JDM to cover more cars and parts overall. If Aust. was the only market that got some specific parts on this model, those specific parts may not be on the CD's. That being the case, I would chase those part numbers up with Toyota Aust.
There could not be too many / any (?) of these can there ?
Cheers,
Mitch.

Opps Typoo.
Thanks Steve.
Send me a pm & we'll work out how I can pick it up off you.
Did you check for CT190 or CT190G?
They are different models, the "G" is a short run (15 months only) update with parts off the 2 models either side.
ie shell from previous model, but running gear & interior from next model.
