Final Drive
Sat, 20 March 2004 14:12
Is it true that if your final drive does not match your 'setup'
you would feel 'lag' and engine would guzzle fuel ?? ..
How do you tell which is the right ratio for a final drive..any way to calculate ??
cheers

the final drive is just another gear,
say u have a 3.08 diff and u are at 2500rpm at 100kph in top gear, and u change it to a 4.11,
it'll be alot quicker to accelerate but rev its tits off on the hiway
so its kind of a trade off
