which wire to filter going to radio? Ign+ or Batt+

hi folks,
i'm cleaning up the wiring in the RA40 and am wondering which power supply to the radio should be filtered.
the Ign+ supply, or
the Batt+
i'm assuming that the Batt+ is the one to filter as the unit uses the Ign+ to decide whether to run/play shit.
It's a Kenwood radio/cass not a factory unit. I am hooking into to the 6 pin plug that originally went to the radio & cassette.
I already have it in place and am sorting out another (probably related) problem where turning on the park lights turns the radio off ;(

I think your correct, I'd filter the power coming from the battery, as the IGN is only a trigger to my knowledge.
The turning off, with the parkers on does sound like you might not have the correct IGN wire? Does the ciggy lighter stop working with the parkers on, it shouldn't :S
Cheers

Yep, correct. You need to filter the Batt+.

thanks guys,
i'll filter the batt+
as for the turning off shit... is v.weird the radio has always turned off during cranking, but this is relatively new - it had been breifly turning off the cig lighter & radio when lights were turned on. i figured it was the crap alternator and associated regulator - that's all been removed!
i was shifting/pulling wires around to wrap them up with that plastic coil stuff (look mum, no more bloody electrical tape!) and then started testing everything ... when i found this new auto-radio-off feature..
wilbo: i'll trace back that wire - i assumed it was the one to use as it was part of the wiring that fed the original radio.
ta all, charles.
