88' Camry White - SOLD

I looking to sell my SV21 camry and to buy a celica instead. Built 11/88, this car is a pleasure to drive, it has recently been fully serviced and all suspension is brand new. This includes new bushes throughout, and new Macpherson struts. It comes with $500 worth of brand new tires. The interior is spotless, clean and completely intact. Creature comforts include a new set of Toyota Racer floor mats, new beautiful black stylish seat covers and new dash mat. All switches, gauges, lights, vents and indicators work perfectly. In short, EVERYTHING in this car WORKS without exception. The electrics system has just been inspected by both an auto electrician and the NRMA and is 100% in compliance, which means 100% functional. Keeping the approaching winter in mind, the heater is very strong, and the car has rear windscreen demisters. A new TPS has also been installed. The engine is a 2.0L Twin cam in top condition. It is deceivingly powerful for a family car, putting out an estimated 100Kw with over 150Nm of torque. The engine has no leaks, runs and idles perfectly. Another bonus of this incredible engine is 9L/100K fuel efficiency in the city, 7.5L/100km on highway. Has enormous storage potential as it comes with tow bar and roof racks and is easily strong enough to pull 5 people with a trailer. Radiator has been completely flushed & serviced. Brakes have been serviced and bled.
NEW PARTS INCLUDE:
Powermax Oil & Cooper Oil Filter
Wesfil Air filter
Bosch Ignition leads and Distributor cap
Bosch Super 4 Spark Plugs
Nulon Anti boil, anti freeze
Rocker Cover Gasket
Power Steering & Alternator Belts
Macpherson Struts
Nolathane Bushes all through suspension & sway bar
Control Arms
TPS
4 Goodyear Eagle Ventura Tires ($135 each)
Pioneer CD player
Pioneer Speakers
All new bulbs
Sakura Wheel Covers
The paint and body are in pristine condition as it has been garaged and washed regularly throughout its life. This car is extremely secure, all locks work, has never been broken into. This car also comes with a premium pioneer sound system, consisting of a CD player and 6 speaker sound system. The stereo gives out beautiful, enveloping and distortion free sound. Car comes with original manual. I genuinely regret having to sell this car but it is imperative as I am planning to go overseas. You will NOT be disappointed with this car, its reliability is unparalleled. This model of Camry has a solid reputation as a reliable, low maintenance, comfortable family car. It is also great value for money as an example in this condition is easily worth $5000. All offers are welcome and will be considered. Feel free to call me with any inquiries. Test drive this car and you will know why I love it so much, handles like a dream and is extremely safe. The combination of quality suspension products and top of the line tires makes this car handle beautifully in all conditions. Also has child seat restraints and seat covers have pockets on rear for easy storage of childrens toys. Perfect car for a family, second car/ runabout or very well suited as a safe first car. There is nothing to fix/ repair on this car. Easily passed Rego 3 months ago, comes with 3 months rego.

thanks, and yeah this car is a far bit faster than i thought it would be. the camrys have the whole 'grandpa car' reputation and after driving my parents camry with a 5S-FE in it, i was not expecting much from mine. But i was pleasantly surprised with how hard it goes. So far i have managed to beat a 98 V6 commodore, several hyundai excels (like thats an acheivement), a few EA Falcons (all autos though, havent come across a manual) and it generally beats anything anywhere near its age when it comes to other family sedans and little hatchbacks. As a matter of fact the only car that has beat me so far is a HSV Maloo R8, and funnily enough that was fairly close. With a few mods, this car is a serious sleeper

something around $4400 would be ideal, seeing as im saving up for a celica, but really it depends on what people are willing to pay. I personally know that this car is worth that much simply because i have gone over every inch of this car with a fine tooth comb and i havent found any problems. plus, with all new shocks, EVERY SINGLE suspension bush replaced just over a month ago, all new tyres and complete service, there really isnt any need to spend any money on the thing. The only thing i could see anyone wanting to put on this car is a sports exhaust, and believe me, this car would be a weapon with a sports exhaust.

good luck with the sale mate,
but just a question, how did you get 100kw from the stock 3sfe as stock is only 88kW....and is this dyno proved? and another thing, ummm sv21's are acutally quite easy to get into...just have to know how...
other than that good luck with the sale, you might want to add how many km's its travelled...

Thanks for the pointers, the car has travelled 288470km, the engine has an 'estimated' 100kW, which is stock of 88kW + CAI with concealed scoop, K & N panel filter, synthetic oil, performace leads + Bosch Super 4 plugs. This has not been dyno tested, although ICEMAN got a gain of roughly 10 - 15Kw from a CAI and Panel Filter. As far as breaking into them is concerned, they have duel door seals, which makes them quiet to drive and harder to break into. im sure if you had enough time (or a brick) you might be able to get into it. But there is not a lot of reason to break into a camry, especially if you take the faceplate off the pioneer headdeck.

100kw at the fly wheel is possible, but you might want to consider that ICEMAN also has extractors which would make quite an impact he ended up getting 70 something at the wheels. I drive an SV21 myself and got 53.9 at the wheels, thats with a 2.25 inch exhaust. Have u had to re-con the engine?
Having said that Camrys are a great car, bullet proof reliability and great fuel efficency (9L/100km), a very cheap car to run and they have adeqate power.

The engine has not needed to be reconditioned since it has been driven fairly taimly throughout its life, a 40 year old woman owned it before i did and i dont have the money to go fanging it around in case i crash the thing. It has been serviced frequently and looked after well, as it says above, has been garaged for most of its life so the paint is in good nick. I thought the stock exhaust on these was at least 2" if not 2 1/4"? mine is fairly loud though because it is tuned for economy rather than power.

Sale fell through, despite a near perfect NRMA report (and trust me, the dude was anal about it). I had the brand new tyres rotated yesterday, they cost me $500 so im looking after the buggers suspension got inspected yesterday as well to make sure the bushes had sat in properly, All is %100. I have pics of the car to send if anyone is interested, im just not sure of how to get them hosted and on this thread.

CelicaBoi, pics have been sent
GreyWolfe, tell me what i can do to make buying the car easier and i will see what i can do, what about if i throw in a NSW RWC?
Its still got 3 months rego on it, and unless the system has changed in the last year or so, i thought NSW rego went on engine cc's. Which means for a 2.0L you wont be forking out much i dare say

Yeah, its a well known fact that the roof racks make it go faster. As for the celica, im looking into either a ST185, or a JZA70 Supra with 1JZ-GTE. Depends what the cash situation is doing in about a fortnights time.
